Two Weeks.

by Kelly

Yep, it’s just two weeks away now until the official launch of the Nancy Drew movie.

Since I’ve decided to embrace the movie (insert clearing of the throat here) rather than rue its coming, I thought that I would make it my first ever kids’ book carnival!

These are the details. The deadline for submission is Monday, June 4. The theme is “Nancy Drewâ€?. Submit your Nancy Drew related stories, blog posts, photos and articles for consideration in the carnival. It can be old or new Nancy Drew, take your pick. I’m not going to judge (well, I will silently, but that’s to be expected), I’m just going to post.

Climb in your convertible, let your titian hair down and join the fun!

I never got into Nancy Drew as a kid. I was more a Judy Blum fan. But I did like the Hardy Boys tv show. Hunter Stephenson - hubba, hubba.

ooh, I remember the Hardy Boys! My brother had all of the books and we watched the TV show religiously. I have to say, the Hardy Boys TV show was much better than the Nancy Drew TV show. Pamela Martin (that was her name, right?) wasn’t all that convincing as Nancy Drew.

There’s this great line in Deirdre’s song, Ballad of River Heights, about when Judy Blume came along and how a lot of readers abandoned Nancy…

About Tiny Treasury

It's impossible to get rid of a bad children's book once it has entered your house. In fact, if history teaches us anything, it's that it will become a favorite. Your child will cling to it, sleep with it and worst yet, require you to read it over and over again.

At tinytreasury.com, our mission is separate the good from the bad. If I can save one parent from having to read a rhyming book about dancing pigs, then I'll know I've done my job.
